Meditation

The biggest influences that shape how I practice and teach meditation are engaged Buddhism/Mindfulness meditation through Thich Nat Han, Realization Process through Judith Blackstone, visualization through Dr. Joe Dispenza and Tom Kenyon, Law of Attraction through Abraham Hicks, and Guided Reiki Healing Experiences through Holy Fire® Reiki. I incorporate these styles into my sessions and classes. I also offer sessions specifically for Judith Blackstone's Realization Process, a series of practices for spiritual realization, guiding us to connect with the most subtle dimension of our being, to connect fully with ourselves and the world around us. I find that this practice is best learned about through experience and so I will share with you a little bit about how my life has changed as a result of these practices.

My first glimpse of "meditation" was during hatha style yoga classes, I was able to experience brief periods of stillness within my mind and body. I experienced my first guided meditation during a counseling session in 2014 and I was amazed at how calm I felt, my usual flurry of anxiety  had dissipated during and for a short time afterwards. I began to seek out meditation videos and books.

Around 2019 I stumbled upon a meditation class being offered at the yoga studio I attended. After 4 weeks of attending a one hour Realization Process Meditation class I noticed a big shift. I went from dropping things frequently (blaming it on uneven floors) and having difficulty opening jars to rarely dropping anything and if I did drop something my hand would find it and catch it in the air without me consciously doing anything and I was opening jars with ease. Spending time finding the internal space of my body made me more aware of where my body and my environment were in space, it also allowed me full access to the strength and coordination that was within me the entire time. These practices have helped me to feel safe and calm within my body even when in challenging situations, they have helped me to learn who I am and to take off the masks I was putting on to make others happy, these changes have helped me to enjoy more meaningful and authentic relationships and experiences.
